Tile stripping – Ploërmel

Using torches with nozzles fitted with single or multiple cones, oxygen and Flamal29, tiles and glass panels can be removed from building fronts at incredible speed (e.g. a 300 m² façade over 8 storeys and 30 metres wide stripped in just a day and a half in Paris, or a 700 m² façade over 13 storeys and approximately 30 metres long in four and half days elsewhere in the French capital, then a 400 m² gable on the same site in a day and a half).

Stripping tiles with torches makes much less noise than pneumatic drills, and the technique does not disturb building occupants.

Preparation beforehand with the façade engineer means rubble fall can be minimised, damage to joinery elements avoided and non-heated sections removed more easily.

Use of torches makes it possible to detect anomalies (such as damp) in the under-layer.

The process can also be used to remove swimming pool tiles and solve any water tightness issues before refurbishment.
